ملخص الدراسة
Abstract
This study aimed at exploring knowledge management at Palestinian universities in reality and identifying the knowledge management processes of these universities. Also, it seeks measuring the practice extent of using these processes in order to offer a suggested proposal of knowledge management at Palestinian universities.
The researcher used the analytic descriptive method to conduct his study and to obtain the required data. A questionnaire of 4 dimensions with 41 items was prepared and distributed to the study target of 327 administrative employees (Deans of faculties , Chairman of departments and divisions and their deputies ) at the Islamic, Al-Azhar and Al-Aqsa universities.
In addition, the researcher analyzed the questionnaire using “SPSS” program. He used the following statistical processes to process the data: frequencies, means, percentages, Pierson’s correlation coefficient, Spearman’s correlation coefficient, Gateman’s correlation coefficient, Alpha Cronbach correlation coefficient, T. Test, and One Way Anova
Study Results:
1. Practices of Palestinian Employees for knowledge management operations were as follows Applying the knowledge(85.25%), Knowledge organizing (85.00%), Knowledge generating (84.25%), and Knowledge participating (79.46%).
2. There are no statistically significant differences in knowledge management at the Palestinian universities attributed to the sex variable.
3.There are statistically significant differences in knowledge management at the Palestinian universities in the dimension of knowledge participating and application attributed to the qualification variable always in favor of the highest qualifications.
4.There are no statistically significant differences in knowledge management at the Palestinian universities attributed to the experience variable.
5.There are statistically significant differences in knowledge management at the Palestinian universities in the dimensions of knowledge organizing and generating attributed to work place. Results frequently showed superiority of the Islamic University.
6. The researcher made and carried out interviews with the experts and specialists in such field to support knowledge management in Palestinian universities. The main procedures and steps were :
1- Publishing and circulating knowledge culture in the institutions of Palestinian higher education .
2- Cycling the administrative positions according and based on the policy of the University Administration .
3- Supporting Scientific research centers .
4- Developing the courses Palestinian Universities .
The Most Important Recommendations:
1.There is a need to develop a strategic vision for the higher education on sound scientific bases appropriate for the sublime mission of the university.
2.Creating incentive programs for scientific research at the Palestinian institutions of the higher education.
3.Transferring the Palestinian institutions of higher education as nurseries for knowledge industry project.
4.Integrating new patterns of teaching and learning to have a diversity of knowledge resources.
5.Forming a management team for knowledge systems to monitor the applications of such systems at the universities.
Benefiting from university curricula to motivate the students to think of and search for new knowledge
